My name is Sarah-Jane and please accept my warmest welcome, to Gin and Tulips.
I spend far too much time writing, leaving me bespectacled and tired, for ninety percent of my days. I couldn’t not do it though…it’s part of me.
This is basically my pocket notepad, digitalised.
I’ve decided not to give too much of a format…just to share what I am feeling or thinking about, where ever I may be, at that moment in time.
I hope you enjoy the scribbles.
Thank you for reading 🙂

Hello Sarah-Jane, just stopped by to say “hi”. Lovely blog. I look forward to returning for a visit! 🙂
Hi Penny
Thanks for taking the time to say hi…and for the compliment 🙂
The door is always open.
Don’t bother knocking…just come on in 🙂
I think if you are not a Dr. Who fan I can’t help but reccommend…but if you get that all the time I understand.
I’m not a Dr. Who fan…and I haven’t a clue what you are on about 🙂 Maybe I should be? Ha
Well one of the companions he had in the 80’s? 70s? was named Sarah Jane. The actress who played her recetnly passed but she had a ton of cameos on episodes with the 10th doctor–David Tennant and even her own show, a season worth called “the Sarah Jane adventures.” Anywho. That’s all. I mean I think it’s a fantastic show for tons of reasons but that was what made me wonder.
I feel I should have known that, haha. I will add Dr. Who to my list. To watch. I mean to watch.
Hi Sarah: If you’re going to watch Dr Who, you should know the series started in 1963, so it might take you a while. 🙂
Ha! I better get started!
Hi Sarah! Thanks for the like! Looking forward to checking out more of your entries 🙂
Thanks Carly, love your page 🙂
Hope you enjoy…
Hello Sarah,
Many thanks for stopping by my blog
And you, mine. 🙂
What a lovely blog!
Thanks Edward, you’re too kind.
TOO kind? Oh, I’m sorry. In that case, your blog is marginally better than some other blogs that exist. But not that much better. Barely better than them.
But barely. 😉
Ha, I prefer your original comment!
To that end, I retract my effort at modesty and replace with;
‘Thanks Edward. You’re just the right amount of kind.’
😉
Oh, a change of plans, eh? Then I offer you this:
Your blog is great, and it sucks. It’s amazing, and horrible. It brings both orgasm and diarrhea.
Take the average of those statements, and that’s about 43% of the way towards my true feelings of your blog.
Maths was never my forte. You can consider me positively bamboozled. *Scratches head*
I just heard that that actress Reese… I forget her last name, but she was stabbed with a knife on the way to her car.
Greetings
Hi!
How are you?
All good, thanks. Hoping the same for you.
🙂 Thank you
Hello Sarah
Am not a big fan of formatting either…so I like the place already!
Anything goes here, Chris! Anything!
Thanks for dropping by 🙂 I enjoyed your post 🙂
From one Sarah Jane to another, hello!
Hi Sarah Jane…great name you’ve got, there!
Loads of luck with your writing 🙂 I am trying to become a writer
Thanks! I’m not really in pursuit of anything more than what I already have, though…I guess I’m pretty content. That said, I am always open to offers 🙂
Good luck honeybunch…I’ll come and visit again soon 🙂
Hi Sarah-Jane….I love your sense of immediacy and your Gin and Tonic blog. The form of your blog (or the lack thereof..) is of no concern. Remember “form follows function..”. Content is everything!
Oh, I hope you don’t mind my re-naming your blog—-I just can’t see myself drinking gin with tulips….damn flowers in your teeth and all….
Be well,
Howard
Content is everything, I couldn’t agree more, Howard. Thank you for checking out Gin and Tulips (ahem!) haha. My tipple of choice is Gin and Tonic…but I’m pretty taken with Gin and Tulips, for recording my scribbles.
I hope you drop by again soon!
Sarah
Okay, as long as you invited me…I guess I will. Oh, I like my gin ice cold and my tonic….well….tonic-iy.
Howard
Gin & Tonic, Gin & Tulips, Gin & Two Lips. What ever works. Thanks for subscribing to my blog. I must admit I also thought of Sara Jane Smith when I saw your name. Great blog. Regards.
Sandra, some how you escaped me!
And bravo, with the two lips…you’re the first to have seen that.
Thank you for letting me know you liked G&T, I love knowing that.
And, I really must find out more about this Sarah-Jane!
Hi! I’ve just stumbled across your cute blog and really like it. I don’t think people write enough poetry these days! It reminded me that I used to write reams of poems when I was an angst-y teenager but haven’t done so for years. Maybe I should now I’m all about happiness instead (hence the blog!) Thanks for posting and I’ll keep reading. Feel free to stop by sometime. Peace x
I’m glad you enjoyed the G&T experience 🙂
Poetry is not so widely loved these days. But I’m out and proud…I love it; to read it and to write it. I get excited when I read something that appeals to me. I know, I’m a geek 🙂 a nice geek, though…I promise.
I’ll be sure to check out your blog, hopefully read your happy poetry. 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to say hello 🙂
But what do the gin and tulips mean together?
There’s no deep, meaningful explanation behind G&T; just a bit of a play with the words, of things I happen to be fond of. Gin and Tulips, gin and two lips. G&T, Gin and Tonic. Basically. I like drinking gin and tulips are my favourite flower. 🙂
Got it. Cool name for a blog.
Aw thanks 🙂
I love your blog!!! Now following and enjoying the English touch….. especially the gin 🙂
Oh, thank you so much for the compliment! Where in the world are you?
Please to make your acquaintance, Sarah. I wish you the best and do hope to continue sharing words with one another, sincerely.
My best,
Thank you for all of your kind words, I’m glad you’ve enjoyed some of my work. I look forward to reading your next piece. 🙂
I love your poetry and your quirky posts, so I have nominated you for the ‘One Lovely Blog’ Award. Keep on being so lovely! 🙂

Oh, thank you for thinking of G&T…wonderful! I’d like to thank my friends and family and all of the frolicking G&T Lovers, for all their support; wait. Do I need to do anything?
Well, the usual thing to do is just to tell seven random things about yourself, then nominate other bloggers. But just answer in any way that feels good, Ruleofstupid wrote a lovely, funny rant and I know many people have answered with beautiful poems too! So it’s up to you, and there’s no pressure really to answer either. I just wanted to include your lovely writing. 🙂
Thank you for including me…I’m so glad you enjoy my scribbles. You’re a sweetheart, thank you 🙂
Dear Sarah-Jane. What gives? Don’t think that your absence has gone unnoticed. That’s 2.5 months now. I find this to be unacceptable. Please return and give us something to read.
Well, that got a smile.
How the devil are you, Trent?
The truth is, I got all melancholic and was writing awful confessional rubbish that was only fit for the bin.
My scripts are going from strength to strength though….so that is something.
I’m doing well. Honestly, I’m not one for confessional rubbish, it always feels like blathering. Glad the scripts are going well – I still remember that one brief bit you had a while ago, it was awesome.
Wow – over 3 years of following you, and you still have a lovely blog.
Btw, just stole your verbiage for the disclaimer (okay, shifted the email address to mine), just wanted to give you credit for ironically stealing your content about not stealing your content.
I believe the kids refer to that as “so meta”. Or some other sort of bs.
Ha, no problem.
Many thanks. You’re the stronger writer, after all.
Stop, you’ll make me blush.
Good.
Are you still posting? I’d love to read your stuff.
I do but sporadically. There’s a whole back catalogue, some good, some bloody terrible.
I suspect it’s more like “some good, some bloody brilliant”
Ha, I suppose it depends who is reading.
Well… me. I’m reading. So I’m right, aren’t I. Yes!
Ah well now, I suppose I should let you win that one.
Let me? Why… I had to practically fight you tooth and nail for this victory! 😉
I’m nice like that.
Haha yes you are. 🙂
